FoodPaucarbamba is a small village close to Urubamba in the Sacred Valley, Peru.? With the money sent by Desana, Carlos was able to open another food line in this village that was almost washed away in the flooding. Carlos designed a simple temporary dining hall to allow the people to get in out of the rain (and sun - when it is not raining).?

Early today we went grocery shopping for 200 people. In a little over two hours we purchased enough food to last them a couple of days. While we were doing the shopping, Carlos was on his way to Paucarbamba with building materials for the dining hall.

When we arrived at the building site, they had already cleared and leveled the ground and were busy building wall sections and roof trusses....Peruvian style.? It was wonderful to see all of the helpers Carlos had arranged. There were people from Chile, UK, United States, and Peru.? There may have been more that is all that I think I met. It was nice being the tallest person there..... made me feel needed when it came time to hold the roof trusses and for cutting things that were over the head of most of the Peruvians.
