| Who We Are. Desana Inc is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that enriches and improves the lives of children of poverty. We are different from many charities, we give 100% of the money donated to fund the direct costs of our projects. What does that mean to you?? Your dollars go further towards making a difference in the lives of these children.
How We Work. With the help of our Project Directors, we provide the appropriate help to the area we are covering. We may fund schools and provide them with the essential educational materials needed to teach; we may fund a day shelter that gives children a safe place to do homework and have a hot meal away from outside distractions. We have not selected projects but rather the projects are presented to us and the Board of Directors makes the decision to fund the project.

It was a mad rush to get everything ready for the first appearance at the on Saturday August 21st! We had purchased many items while in South America: hats, scarfs, ear warmers, hand painted note cards, and silver jewelry. The more "formal" version of our mission is: To enhance the positive quality of individual, family, and community life by providing services that are accessible and responsive to the needs of individuals, families and groups seeking assistance, and to work with the community to contribute, facilitate, and promote solutions for the enrichment of all.
