The Desana Board of Directors are an all volunteer governing body. The board serves without pay. In addition to no pay, the board has agreed to pay all operating expenses incurred by Desana! What does that mean to you? It means that 100% of the money we receive goes directly to helping children. No operating expenses are taken from your donation!
Here are our Board of Directors.....

Dr Michael Houk
Director
Dental Mission Director
Dr Michael Houk is a practicing dentist in Sioux Falls South Dakota. Mike is a very caring and giving person that started visiting Peru in 2009. The need for free dental care for the very poor made Mike set up his dental mission. 2010 was the first year of the dental mission. That mission was split between Cusco and Paucarbamba. Several years ago, Dr Mike decided that he would like to share his knowledge of actually practicing dentistry in the real world with students at his almamater University of Nebraska. The U of Nebraska has a tremendous dental progam and Dr Mike wanted to give back to this school and the future dentists. Mike offers the opportunity to attend his dental mission to his dental students. Each year more and more of his students are signing up for the dental mission.
Brian Gilleland
Director
Christmas In Nashville
Brian and his wife Kathi own Poise and Ivy, a Nashville high end garden and grounds design company. Many of their clients are the who's who in Nashville. Brian is also a writer..... working on his first novel. When Brian was asked if he would consider being added to the Desana Inc Board of Directors, he imediately said 'yes' ..... he had been thinking about a way to help the homeless in Nashville. For years, he and Kathi had been providing Christmas bags of clothing, hygiene items, food and other items that could be used by the homeless. "Brian is a great addition to our board of directors", said Kathy Houk, Founder of Desana Inc. Watch for more information on Brian and his Christmas in Nashville Project.
