Volunteer

As Desana continues to grow, we will need more Volunteer helpers. Desana is made up of all volunteers. There are no "paid" employees. All expenses of Desana are paid by the Board of Directors and volunteers that choose to participate. You can become a volunteer and not pay a thing financially. You can volunteer your time and talents.

Kathy always says, "I feel guilty when I tell people what we are doing because we are having so much fun!" Giving does not have to hurt. Try it, if you are not doing it already, and you will see. You will get so much more than you are giving. God sees to it that it works that way.

Donate

Of course we always need money. Kathy makes sure we have plenty of projects to fund. She is famous for saying, "Yes, we can do that!". And she is right. But it takes money. If you can give a monthly donation, we would really appreciate it. A monthly donation allows us to plan better for future projects. We are receiving more and more monthly donations. We use PayPal to collect these donations for us. If you prefer, you can send a check. It does not matter. What does matter is that you take the time to help these extremely poor children. OFTEN! Sometimes people like to feel good about sending in a donation once a year but remember, these children would like to eat EVERY DAY not just once a year.  Please go to our GIVING page and donate "what your heart tells you to donate".

Orphanage House Sponsor

We are currently looking for volunteers to sponsor (perhaps as a team) one of the houses in Zaimka Russia. This is an orphanage that keeps brothers and sisters together. There are several houses that make up the orphanage. Each house is different - different number of children - different age groups - etc. We have committed to the orphanage that we will find sponsors to send Birthday presents to the children. So far we have a couple of the houses covered. It would cost around $100 to sponsor about 6 children. You would have to purchase small birthday gifts - you would be supplied names and ages and boy or girl - so you could purchase appropriate gifts. You would send the gifts to us in TN and Kathy will add a few more items and forward it on to the children. If you want to send the boxes directly, you could do that as well but it usually costs us $75 to $85 just send the boxes. We add a note (in Russian) telling them who the box is from. Church Dinner

We have held successful church dinners telling the Desana story. With all of the projects that Desana is currently supporting it is nice to get groups together that want to make a difference.  Contact us and we will be happy to help you set up a dinner.

Fund Raising Event
