Gary Sanchez

Peru Project Director

Gary is much more than just our Project Director in Peru. He is actually the inspiration behind Desana. Gary was our tour guide on our first trip to Peru. He shared his vision of helping children with us and therefore got us started thinking about how we could help.

Gary is still guiding and working very hard for Desana as a volunteer. Gary took a single event (A 117 Children Christmas) and in one year grew the event to over 300 children and a home for unwed mothers. He put together an all volunteer team of 42 people to pull off this feat.

In addition to the Christmas Parties, Gary is responsible for Pomatales School Project where Desana provides school uniforms, school supplies, and basic hygiene supplies.

Gary is the owner of Pacha Tours & Travel of Peru. Gary W. Sanchez was born in Cusco, Peru and studied tourism at the city's guide school. After graduation he dedicated the next nine years to working in the adventure and cultural travel business, journeying throughout Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia, during which time he learned to value the rich cultural and natural heritage of his native country, as well as to understand the tastes and preferences of travelers from all over the world.

His aim as a guide has always been to share the best of his knowledge with every single traveler he guides, and it was with this same commitment to excellence that he formed his own company in order to provide cultural and nature travel experiences to those who travel with PACHA.

As a small, local business which prides itself on its personalized service and attention to detail, his company's philosophy remains focused on sharing unforgettable experiences with its clients, and its main offices continue to be based in Gary?s home city of Cusco.
