Just when I think I have all the Projects Desana can handle, God says: "Hey Kath, I've got a plan ....... " and I realize it really is out of my control.

What - Shelter for street kids.
Where - Kampala, Uganda
When - ASAP
Purpose - To share love by providing basic needs such as food, clothing, medical attention and teaching God's word.
Needed - Everything except the Love and God's word. I already have those.
Kampala is a city of relentless poverty. Thousands of orphans roam the streets: hungry, dirty, tattered and broken. Most are victims of AIDs and the endless war in the northern part of the country. Most don't know a way of life other than begging, stealing or working long hours for the next meal. Can we change the current situation? No! Can we make life better for a few? Yes! We are in the process of registering Desana Inc - Uganda with the Uganda government and are seeking a facility to rent. The rest, well honestly, the rest consists of a million things: furniture, a van, a staff of local volunteers, a signpost, etc. etc. Do I have faith that God will direct me each and every step of the way? Absolutely! He has already connected Desana with some amazing Ugandans including Project Director Andrew Ssemwogerere.
Do I need your help? Yes! This project is huge --- I believe it is the one that has been "planned" all along. If you can donate - please do. If you can volunteer - please do. At any rate - include us in your prayers. This wasn't my idea and God will provide everything we need. I'm just following up on "Hey Kath ..... I've got a plan"
